HOW TO VOTE IN THE GENERAL ELECTION
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd
VOTING IN-PERSON ON ELECTION DAY
Polling locations in Minnesota will be open from 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday, November 3rd and as long as you are in line by 8:00 PM and remain in line, you will be able to vote. Minnesota does not have a voter registration deadline and allows eligible voters to register to vote on Election Day. If you aren’t registered to vote within 21 days of Election Day, you must register at your polling location on Election Day. Read more about registering to vote on Election Day.
If you’re working on Election Day, Minnesota law provides you with the right to take paid time off work to vote without using personal leave or vacation time. The Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office has made available a letter employees can give to their employer that affirms their right to take paid time off work to vote on Election Day.
VOTING EARLY IN-PERSON
Early voting in Minnesota will begin Friday, September 18th and run through Monday, November 2nd, the day before Election Day. Early voting hours and locations vary by county.

During weekdays from Friday, September 18th to Monday, November 2nd, Washington County voters can vote early during this period at the following locations and times:

VOTING BY MAIL
To vote by mail, you can request to have an absentee ballot mailed to you. Absentee mail ballots will begin to be mailed on Friday, September 18th. Absentee mail ballots returned via mail must be received by your county elections office by 8:00 PM on Election Day, Tuesday, November 3rd. If you’re returning your absentee mail ballot in-person, it must be turned in by 5:00 PM to your county elections office on Election Day.
Make sure if you return your ballot via mail that you allow enough time for it to be delivered to your county elections office in order to be counted.
